Nicholas L. Bourdeau is simply known as the “Child Support Expert.” As a forensic CPA and mediator with over 20 years of practice in family law, much wisdom has been gained from his 1,000 engagements and court appearances. His ground-breaking book, The Determination of Income for Child Support, includes the exclusive supplements Finding Hidden Assets and The Valuation and Division of Marital Estates. Besides being a Certified Public Accountant, (CPA) Bourdeau is Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) and Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. He has full membership in the Montana Mediation Association (MtMA) with Family Designation and served as Treasurer of the MtMA for 10 years. Since Bourdeau’s expertise centers around determining income for child support, as well as the valuation and division of marital estates, his educational classes serve mediators, collaborative attorneys, family law attorneys, paralegals, and child support investigators. While Bourdeau’s articles on business valuation and reconstructing income are enlightening, what has caught national attention is the publication of The Determination of Income for Child Support which provides expertise in this complicated arena. His CSW child support software is used by the Supreme Court of Montana and virtually all family law attorneys, as well as the Child Support Enforcement Division (CSED) of the State of Montana. Bourdeau has authored the NoDACS child support program for North Dakota and it is quickly gaining popularity in that state. Bourdeau is a partner in Bourdeau Conflict Relief, pllp, which provides peaceful divorces to couples and has expanded to engagements involving business and workplace conflict. |
